OUR COMMITMENT TO CHILD SAFETY

Every person in the netball community has a responsibility to understand their role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people in our care.

St Dominic's Netball Club is committed to promoting and protecting the rights of children and preventing abuse from occurring by fostering a culture where children feel safe and empowered.

We also seek to ensure the cultural safety of First Nations children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds and children with a disability.

We stand by and adhere to Netball Victoria’s Commitment to Child Safety, including:

• IT IS ALWAYS OK TO TELL SOMEONE IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING COMFORTABLE OR SAFE, OR IF YOU HAVE BEEN HURT.

• IT IS OK FOR YOU TO SAY NO TO AN ADULT IF THEY ASK YOU TO DO SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU FEEL UNSAFE OR UNCOMFORTABLE.

• IT IS NOT OK FOR SOMEONE TO HURT YOUR FEELINGS OR YOUR BODY.

• IF YOU EVER FEEL UNSAFE OR UNCOMFORTABLE, WE WILL LISTEN TO YOU AND ACT TO HELP YOU.
