Saturday games are played at the WDNA courts, located off Cassinia Ave in Ashwood. Players need to arrive at the courts 15 minutes prior to the start of their game to allow time for warming up and assigning positions. Unless advised earlier, in the event of inclement weather players must still arrive on time and wait for WDNA's formal decision as to whether to cancel play. The decision to cancel a game can be made a very short time prior to the scheduled game.

It is very important that players attend training and arrive on time. For a team to be successful, they need to practise drills and set plays together. Training should build fitness, develop skills and above all else - be fun! Out of respect for both the coaches and other teammates, if for some reason you are unable to make it to training, please inform your Team Manager through your team chat.

Coaching for the St Dominic's Netball club is a great way for players to develop leadership skills. Coaches can start off in an assistant capacity while they learn and develop confidence (generally around 12-14 years of age) and then progress through to a coaching role managing their own team (generally 14+years old).
Minimum qualifications for our coaches are the Foundation Coach Accreditation Course through Netball Victoria.
If you are interested in applying for a coaching position, please let the club know by emailing stdomsnetball@gmail.com.
Parents play a key role in ensuring a smooth and successful netball experience for all players.
Key responsibilities include:
SCORING - All families will be required to score at least once during the season. A roster will be created and distributed by the Team Manager at the start of the season:
Home Games (where St Dominic's are listed first on the Netball Connect fixture for any game) - the family assigned will be responsible for keying in the goals scored for each team in the 'Netball Connect' app. The Team Manager will assign you scoring rights in the app on the day of the game. Instructions on how to complete scoring are found here.
Away Games (where St Dominic's are listed second on the Netball Connect fixture for any game) - the family assigned will be responsible for standing next to the assigned 'home' scorer from the opposition to ensure scoring accuracy and integrity.
Please note this becomes very important during finals and WDNA officials will, on ocassions, perform random checks to ensure the away scorer is standing next to the home scorer in order to avoid any scoring disputes and protests.
It is important all relevant parents and carers who are rostered on for scoring duties are aware of the scoring task they need to complete on the day. In the interest of fairness to all other parents, we ask that when rostered on, the parent or carer in attendance is aware of what their scoring role is.
